The Waterford School is a K-12 independent school that offers students a liberal arts, college preparatory experience in Sandy, UT. At Waterford, we believe deeply in the power of the arts to enrich our students’ learning throughout our academic program. Although writing skills are particularly emphasized in English classrooms, we see the art of writing as a tool for great personal and intellectual growth that can and should be practiced across our whole curriculum.
This learning blog is a place for Waterford teachers to contemplate how they use writing in their classrooms, and to share their tips, techniques, and tools with other teachers. This is also a place where parents can read more about our program, and learn how to best support their students’ writing at home. Waterford’s Writing Across the Curriculum initiative and learning blog is under the auspices of Harmony Button, the English Department Chair and incoming Academic Dean.
